Though it took me a while to figure out that Taylor was the sister of Lindsey in Pleasure Extraordinaire 1 thru 4. And Jack
her husband who died leaving her the construction company that was listed in the illusions series. Adam was Jacks
best friend and also in love with Taylor for many years. When Jack was killed in a car accident Adam begum trying to win Taylor
to himself. But even after three years Taylor was trying to avoid getting involved with anyone else and could not
stop thinking of Jack. She was attacked by someone and Adam came to the rescue, getting himself shot saving her.
And she wound up giving blood to save his life. He tries and tries to win her over. She feels she is being disrespectful
to her dead husband. She finally agrees to a date and he does in fact finally get to make love to her. But she has to role
play in order to do it. Then she asked him to meet her at a specific bar and she puts on a red headed wig to meet him
He turns he down when she walks to his side of the bar but when she speaks he knows it is her and says her name. But she
says she is Joletta a high priced hooker. She is still role playing and charges him 1000 dollars for a night with her.
He gladly pays with a check and even adds more for her accepting the check. He tries to play along but not being sure
what she wants the evening plays out and he finally pulls her out of the role play and she realizes that she does want
him as Taylor. She also admits to thinking it was her fault because she forced her husband to buy a used car instead
of wasting money on the new car he wanted. It's all very deep because of her love for her husband Jack and her feeling
of cheating even though he is dead. A bit of suspense and mystery when someone tries to blackmail her with a video of her and Adam, Adam helps her to pay the ransom but tells her to go to the police which she doesn't do. The two men who attached her and shot Adam were found dead and then the one who tried to blackmail her was found dead killed with the same bullet. The police saw Adam as a suspect and came to his apartment to speak with him and asked him to come down to the station. Taylor was staying with him after attempting suicide and he doesn't want to leave her. While he is gone Valarie shows up and informs her shes is Jacks half sister but their father had disowned her and refused to acknowledge her as his. She confessed to Taylor that she had in fact murdered Jacks Dad and Mom and that it was her who had the brakes fixed that caused the accident that killed Jack. She also admitted to killing the men who had attacked her. They had been hired by her to kill Taylor because she was in love with Adam and wanted Taylor gone. Valarie also had been the one who slit Taylor's wrists trying to make it look like a suicide. She said she would turn the gun over to the police that had Adams fingerprints on it. Anyway Adam convinces the officers to return to the apartment and they hear Val saying die bitch and a gun goes off, they find her on top of Taylor and both women are taken to the hospital and Taylor is released. She begins to go into depression again but pulls out of it and realizes that Adam does lover her and that he will stick with her. He then convinces her to move in with him and stay. Mystery, murder, and hot love making scenes prove once again the Liv Bennett can make you fall in love with her characters. First with the Pleasure Extraordinaire Series. The Pursuit of Passion Taylor Adam PURSUIT Book 2 edition by Liv Bennett Romance eBooks Reviews

The premise of this story caught my attention and I thought I would really like it but it was just okay.
The story telling seemed choppy to me and almost frantic at times and I just didn't get 'connected' to the characters like I usually do in a good book. The chapters go back and forth from Taylor and Adam's POV...personally, I like that in a book but I know some readers don't so heads up for those of you who don't like that.

The story does include a good twist that I didn't see coming. The sex scenes are very hot and very graphic...fyi...and Adam is definitely an alpha male type who refuses to give up.
You do get a happy ending that I think most would be satisfied with and it's not a cliffhanger, but there are several more books to Taylor and Adam's story. I did go ahead and read the next novella as it was free but at this time, I don't believe I will continue reading their story. Overall, it's not bad but it's just not great and not one that I would re-read.
Meh. I have to say I wanted to love this book, but could not get passed the main female's treating of Adam. Sure she was a widow, but I felt offended for him when at first she would only sleep with him as long as they could keep it private or if she were role playing. Insulting! And then there's Adam. While I admired his holding out hope for her to return his love, he came across as wimpy at times. I guess I just like my men to be uber alpha and Adam is definitely not. I did see the author offered to send part 2 free with the link of this review, but honestly? I'm not even tempted to ask for it. I'm so against the trend a lot of authors are following where they don't publish and entire freaking story, but split into parts. Nope give me an HEA at the end of my book or lose my interest.

Sorry, Ms. Bennett, I do wish you the best in your writing career, but I won't be reading any more of this series.
I wish I understood why this book has so many 4 and 5 star reviews. I wish I could understand how it has a solid 4-star review with so many reviewers. I just didn't think it was that great.

I went into this book expecting to like it and hoping to love it. The reviews looked promising and, for the most part, reviews are helpful in guiding my book purchase options. Not so this time. To be honest, the book was boring…

Let's start with the characters They just weren't that compelling. Taylor was irritating beyond belief, and Adam was almost too needy. With that said, I almost liked Adam. The poor guy was so hung up on Taylor that there just isn't any amount of abuse he wouldn't take from her. I'm not sure it was that realistic. His character falls in love with her on sight, realizes she's his best friend's girl (and later wife) an he's so lovelorn that he cuts himself off from all other women for at least 3-5 years, even after his best friend dies and she's a widow for 3 years and continues to turn him down and treats him like he has a contagious disease. Nah…not buying it.

Then there's the twist at the end…the finding out about who has it in for them. Nope. Not buying it. First it was too rushed when we finally found out, and then it was just weird how it resolved.

To be honest, the book just kinda droned on for me. Nothing caught my attention and kept it, but I kept reading it because the reviews were so good. I wish I hadn't.
